Based on the Robert A. Kraus comic, Chakan is a punishingly dark action-platformer where an immortal warrior fights supernatural enemies to earn his rest — a concept that was genuinely unusual for 1992 console gaming. Extended Play Productions leaned into the difficulty and gothic atmosphere, and the result is a game most collectors remember as much harder than they expected. Sega published it, but it never became a big seller; finding a clean copy with the comic insert is the real prize.
